Anisotropic 3D Print

Flexible 3D Print Project

This was a small-scale project that had the objective of creating a 3D printable cube that would be able to change its appearance in 2 different ways. Essentially, we were tasked with designing an anisotropic material, meaning that it has properties that vary according to direction. The cube I designed was made to have the capabilities of both stretching and compressing in specific orientations. I designed the cube in Rhino and 3D printed it with TPU to allow for more flexibility.
